I watch a ton of anime... and I'm a huge classic horror fan. Sounds like an awesome, fascinating crossover to me.

I dunno, there are animes which contain quite alot of violent and supernatural horror, of standards on par and arguably even better than the average teen slasher movie, so it's not such a new thing to them.
